Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Orders: when you buy a ladder, checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email, phone, shipping address, and payment details. We receive everything except your card number. We never see or store card numbers.
• Contact messages: when you use our contact form, we store your name, email, phone (if given), your message, and any photos you attach so we can respond, and it is emailed to us. Marina and dealer enquiries are handled the same way, along with the business details you give us.
• Fit checks: when you run the fit check, we store your email, boat model, measurements, and photos. The photos and measurements are sent to Anthropic, an AI provider, which looks at them and suggests whether the ladder fits; we store that result too, and a person reviews every one. Anthropic processes them to give us the answer and doesn't use them to advertise to you.
• Reviews: if you write a review on this site, we store your name, rating, review, and anything optional you add (email, location, your dog's name). Approved reviews show on the site with your name and location, never your email. We also show reviews people have posted publicly on our Google Business Profile.
• Spam and abuse prevention: when you submit a form or upload a photo, we record your IP address and browser type and keep them with that submission, to block spam and abuse and to look into misuse. Photos that are uploaded but never sent with a message are deleted automatically after 30 days.
• Chat: if you open the chat assistant, the messages you type are stored and answered by AI (Anthropic's Claude, run through the chat service MakoChat, which our web company operates, and its voice and chat provider Retell AI). If you give your name, email, or phone number in the chat, they are passed to us so we can follow up. The chat sets no cookies. Please don't type payment card numbers or other sensitive details into it.
• Site analytics: we record page views with coarse, non-identifying context (page, referrer, country, device type) and anonymous performance and error data to keep the site fast and working. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not set cross-site tracking cookies.

Spam protection

Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. Turnstile evaluates your browser environment to tell humans from scripts; see Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Who we share with

Only the service providers that make the site work: Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting, photo storage, and performance analytics), Supabase (our database), Twilio (text messages, only if you opt in), Cloudflare (email delivery and bot protection), Anthropic (the AI that reviews fit-check photos and answers chat), and MakoChat and Retell AI (the chat assistant). We never sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Email

We email you about your order (confirmation, tracking) and to answer your messages. After your ladder ships, we may send one email asking how it worked out and inviting a review; it has a one-click link to never be asked again. We don't send any other marketing email unless you ask for it.

Text messages (SMS)

The order form has an optional, unchecked box that reads “Yes, nautiDAWGS may text me once about my order.” If you check it and enter your mobile number beside it, we may send one marketing text message per order to that number after your ladder ships, asking how it worked out and for a Google review. Leaving the box unchecked never affects your order. One message per order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to cancel and HELP for help, or call 502-919-4042. Your consent to receive texts, your phone number, and any text you send us are stored with your order. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messages are delivered through Twilio, our messaging provider.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Messages, fit checks, reviews, chats and the photos sent with them are kept as long as we need them to help you and for our records, and deleted sooner if you ask (see below). The IP address and browser type saved with a submission are kept for as long as that submission is. Page-view analytics hold no names, emails or IP addresses.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (California and Kentucky included), you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

What we collect, by category: identifiers and contact details (name, email, phone, shipping address), commercial information (what you ordered), internet activity (pages viewed, device type, country), photos you upload, and your IP address for abuse prevention.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
